3M3M RFID Patient Records Tracking System

3M's industry leading RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology is being utilised to solve problems currently faced by many hospitals which rely on paper based medical records.

An RFID tag is inserted into active medical record files. The location of these files is then recorded by strategically placed tracking pads and stored in 3M's file tracking software.

This means that a file's location can be viewed instantly from any computer, dramatically reducing the time taken to find misplaced files.

3M Medicode, 3M Dialect and 3M RFID File Tracking will soon be joined by 3M's Electronic Document Management Solutions (eDMS), empowering healthcare organisations to increase the usability of their patient data while improving efficiency, reducing risk exposure and enhancing overall patient care.
